FLIP 2024

FLIP (Festival de Literatura Iberoamericana de Providence), inspirado en el surgimiento de una importante constelación de escritores influyentes y galardonados, se complace en dar la bienvenida a novelistas, poetas y cuentistas de América Latina, el Caribe y España para que se unan a nosotros en la Universidad Brown y en Providence.

FLIP tiene como objetivo servir de puente, conectando nuestro vibrante campus con el corazón de la ciudad y fomentando un fuerte sentido de comunidad. Para promover la inclusividad y el conocimiento entre diversos grupos de edad y orígenes, el festival albergará varios talleres, actuaciones y debates con novelistas, traductores, editores y poetas, que se llevarán a cabo en español e inglés.

El tema de esta edición inaugural es “Fuera de Lugar”. A través de esta noción, buscamos profundizar en la experiencia de vivir y crear en entornos extranjeros, explorando el sentido de desplazamiento que conecta con el panorama internacional de la Universidad de Brown, Providence y el estado de Rhode Island.

Inspired by the rise of a remarkable constellation of influential and award-winning writers, FLIP: Festival of Iberoamerican Literature of Providence is thrilled to welcome novelists, poets, and short story writers from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain to join us at Brown University and in Providence.

FLIP aims to serve as a bridge, connecting our vibrant campus with the heart of the city and nurturing a strong sense of community. To foster inclusivity and knowledge across diverse backgrounds and age groups, the festival will host various workshops, performances, and discussions featuring novelists, translators, publishers, and poets, which will be held in Spanish and English.

The theme of this inaugural edition is “Out of Place.” Through this notion, we seek to delve into the experience of living and creating in foreign environments, exploring the sense of displacement that resonates deeply with the international landscape of Brown University, Providence, and the state of Rhode Island.
