El tema de esta primera edición del Festival FLIP es "Fuera de Lugar". Con “fuera de lugar” apelamos a la descolocación o indefinición de la literatura y su impacto en un contexto de polarización de los discursos que imponen el establecimiento, la identificación y el locus como claves de enunciación. Con la certeza de que la literatura y las artes desafían las nociones monolíticas de raza, género, nación, lengua y territorio, reuniremos en Providence voces disruptivas y disidentes de América Latina, el Caribe y España. Traductorxs, editorxs, artistas, novelistas, cuentistas y poetas darán vida a un espacio-tiempo de confluencias para pensar el-fuera-de-lugar desde las fronteras nacionales, el bilingüismo, lo no binario y lo transgenérico y desde las diversas facetas de los procesos literarios.

The inaugural theme of the FLIP Festival is 'Out of Place.' With this slogan, we aim to address the displacement or lack of definition in literature and its impact within a context of polarized discourses that prioritize establishment, identification, and location as pivotal aspects of expression. With the understanding that literature and the arts challenge rigid notions of race, gender, nation, language, and territory, our goal is to gather in Providence disruptive and dissenting voices from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. Translators, editors, artists, novelists, storytellers, and poets will breathe life into a realm where various perspectives converge to contemplate the concept of being out of place amidst national borders, bilingualism, the non-binary, and the trans-genre, exploring the multifaceted aspects of literary processes.
